Large pool with 2 configuration options that change seasonally
Long course is 50 meters (April-Labor Day Weekend)
Short course is 2 25 meter pools (Sept-March)

Shallow end starts at 3 ½ ft, deepest is 10 ½ ft

Outdoor Pool (Memorial Day-Labor Day):
25 person capacity
Mostly utilized for camp but available to members on the weekends

12,000 square foot (1 of 3 primary competitive locations)
Parking info:
3 lots (main, middle, and upper level), spots for handicapped and veterans
During larger swim or gymnastics meets, participants and spectators are asked to park at satellite locations

Olympic length pool, Extended Turf area for cross training (2 zones), large full-service cafe, 3 full size courts in 2 gym locations, on site traditional day camp, expanded community locker room, simple floor plan, multiple elevators, large saunas on the pool deck
Quirks:
Leveled parking and multiple buildings (see above), multiple locations in the city (Cabot Street Y, McPherson Youth Center, and Sterling Center)
Glen T MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA
The Glen T. Macleod facility is just over 64,000 square feet and environmentally friendly. It is built on a 10-acre property with ample parking and situated by Halyard Condos and the Gloucester Crossing Shopping Plaza.

Parking info:
3 parking lots: one is directly behind the YMCA and is covered. A second is an upper parking lot behind the YMCA (Verizon Lot). The third is directly across the street from our upper parking lot.
Most Notable Features:
We have a Freight Farm! We are the first YMCA in the country to own and operate a freight farm! Freight Farm Pamphlet Our farm is located at Gateway Academy- 415 Primrose Street.
Quirks:
The building is deceiving from the outside. It is much larger than it appears.

Zero entry great for younger kids and families-- spray features in shallow area

This pool often hits max capacity, based on lifeguard ratios (1:25)… therefore it’s only available for YNS members on a first come, first served basis
Recommend coming with a back up plan to swim indoors if the outdoor pool is at capacity.

City of Salem Meter Parking Monday -Saturday 8am-6pm Sunday 12pm-6pm $1.00 hour in Sewall lot. Salem Residents pay $.50 an hour in Jerry’s lot 4 hour maximum
Meter maids are really vigilant - encourage people to pay close attention to their meter
Clarify that the Y doesn’t own or manage any of these lots.
