Daxko Process: Gift Cards & Credit Redemption

Note: Gift cards are not typically in major demand for us, and also are the easiest feature in Daxko as they cannot be redeemed online and cannot be used for drafting membership. Below are some options for how to accommodate gifting requests from members.

• Gift cards can be sold in any amount and redeemed for any Y product except for drafting membership.
  
  

• Physical gift cards are required - the unique barcode must be entered in the process of selling the gift card. They can only be redeemed in-house, not online. (Though, if the gift card is redeemed and the credit is on the account, that can be used online)
  
  

• Here’s a scribe on how to sell and redeem gift cards in Daxko.
  
  

• If someone wants to gift membership, you could:
  
  

  • Offer them a new member folder with welcome materials they can give to the recipient to unwrap as part of the gift.
    
    

  • Load just 1 month of membership dues onto a gift card, which could cover the one-time upfront payment.
    
    

  • Offer alternative payment options if someone wants to cover multiple months:
    
    

    • Suggest a pre-loaded Visa debit card (it only works with DEBIT cards, not regular Visa gift cards), and offer to calculate the membership cost for the number of months they’d like to gift.
      
      

    • Make a plan with the gift giver for when to activate the membership using their own payment method. Ensure that you have this in writing, including sending a copy of the E-pay agreement for them to agree to in writing.

      • If doing this remotely, be aware that the waiver and payment agreement will send to the email address on the account! 

      • Pre-schedule a termination if needed to ensure that the payment method isn’t drafted longer than the gift giver intends (include thorough notes!)

      • Schedule a task to check up on usage and attempt to retain the membership with the member’s own payment method.

Workaround to Use a Gift Card or Credit for Membership Dues

Switch the account from auto-billing to invoice, so that the next round of dues will generate a balance which can be paid off with the credit/gift card.

1. Verify the credit on the unit or redeem the gift card to add it onto the membership unit.
   
   

2. Confirm that there’s a payment method on file to re-attach to the membership once the credit or gift card is used up.
   
   

3. Switch the member to invoice so next month’s dues will generate a balance on their account.
   
   

4. Submit a mojo for the admin team to apply the gift card/credit each month until it's used up. 
   
   

5. Admin will then re-attach the payment method on file and revert to monthly auto-billing.
