achieve a healthy lifestyle, youth members may use the fitness centers at all the YMCA of the North

Shore locations.

Children must be under direct, immediate supervision (within arm’s reach) of Parent/Guardian.

Both parent and youth must complete the complimentary Cardio Orientation together.

MEMBERS AGE 11-13*

YMCA members 11-13 years old will be permitted to use the Cardiovascular and Strength Circuit

Equipment. They may use Functional Fitness Space for bodyweight exercises and cardio safely and

respectfully.

At Beverly, Gloucester, and Marblehead Ys, members must sign in and put on a wristband.

Requires completion of a Fitness Center Orientation.

MEMBERS AGE 14+*

YMCA members ages 14+ are welcome in the Fitness Center at all times. No orientation is required for this age group.

Please note the following guidelines for all members:

  • For your safety, members must wear proper athletic footwear on the fitness floor (no slides, Crocs, socks or slippers).
  • Limit cell phone use on the fitness floor (no extended phone calls) and no video recording or photography.
  • Please be aware that other members may be waiting to use equipment. Avoid excessive phone use (except music/podcasts) and extended conversations while on strength equipment. Please allow others to work in with you between sets.
  • All equipment must be wiped down after every use.
  • Return equipment to original location when finished; no slamming or intentional dropping of weights or dumbbells.
  • We do not permit use of language that is aggressive, vulgar or deemed as demeaning to another person or culture.

* Fitness Center privileges are extended to youths contingent upon following established guidelines and behavior expectations, and may be suspended or revoked at any time at the discretion of the Health and Wellness Director.
