Jr. Celtics Enrollments & Refunds

Important Sports League Enrollment Reminder…
“Please be sure to note that withdrawals/refunds are not available beginning two weeks BEFORE Jr. Celtics begins,
and $65 of the fees is non-refundable due to special order expenses like Jr. Celtics jerseys.”
Why?
Short Answer: Planning!
Long Answer: Due to the number of participants, overhead costs (preordering jerseys and equipment) and time-sensitive nature of scheduling and coach planning for leagues, we need to be able to count on your enrollment and cannot make changes after 2 weeks prior to the start date.
How should we handle complaints?
In the past, we’ve never had an issue with pushback on this, but as of November 2025, we’re hearing complaints.
Say: “I’m sorry, we’re so close to the start, that refunds are no longer possible - the Y has ordered non-refundable supplies, staffed, and created teams and schedules that can’t be changed at this point.”
We have updated the policy page on the website here, as an easy reference.
If the conversation continues to escalate, please loop in Garrett Coler. Technically, this does not align with the general YNS program policy they were served during enrollment, and Garret will speak with anyone who pushes back on that. (We’ll fix that for next year for sure!!)
How about practice schedule issues or transfer requests?
Please do not complete any transfers without review/approval by the local Jr. Celtics staff leader or Garrett Coler.
Schedule issues are extremely rare, as most parents note schedule constraints when they enroll, and these are accommodated in the team-building process. If a participant cannot make the assigned team’s practice schedule work, please connect them with Garrett to explore options.
